Insulation for Balconies & Terraces

Kingspan Group Kingspan Insulation

Meeting both the energy and access requirements of Building Regulations / Standards can be a tricky balancing act when constructing a balcony or terrace. Often, there is very little room for installing insulation, leading to unsightly and impractical steps on the balcony deck.

By using the Kingspan OPTIM-R Balcony & Terrace System of vacuum insulation panels there is no need to compromise on either. With a thermal conductivity of just 0.007 W/m.K, Kingspan OPTIM-R, allows you to achieve both a low U-value and level access.

This Technical Bulletin examines some of the issues to consider when insulating a balcony or terrace. It addresses the problems with meeting both the energy and access requirements, as well as how the Kingspan OPTIM-R Balcony and Terrace System can provide a solution to these problems.
